I spent most of my youth in a beautiful village in the north West Region of Cameroon. When I realized the world as it is, is commonly called the global village, I wondered. You see, I grew up in a traditional village and know what it is. It is not made up of over 195 nations, neither is it filled up with uncountable languages, customs and traditions which all make up the global village. My interest was to find out the advantages attached to a world formerly looked upon or considered as divided into different nationalities, now a village. In my mind I pictured the advantages of living within a traditional village community as I could remember, for most of my youth, as earlier mentioned, was spent within a traditional village community. One thing I can easily remember is the fact that, it is relatively easier to spin money out of any traditional village`s money market. One of the easiest places which I can think of, out of whose money market, we can easily spin out cool, real, easy and almost free money and for almost no work done, is a village.
A small group of dwellings in a rural area, usually ranking in size between a hamlet and a town or an incorporated community smaller in population than a town, in the USA, is a village. The above are all definitions of what we most times understand to be a village. This certainly do not include the whole world. The entire world is certainly bigger than any town while a traditional village is smaller than or the same with a town in size. So, why call the world a global village. From my research, I realized the global village is a term closely associated with Marshall McLuhan popularized in his book of 1962 and Understanding Media of 1964. According to what I understand, the world is a global village due to the fact that the globe has been contracted into a village by electric technology and the instantaneous movement of information from every quarter to every point at the same time. In bringing all social and political functions together in a sudden implosion, electric speed from my understanding, makes the world function as the village it is.
This knowledge opened my eyes to plenty of opportunities. I grew up mainly in a village community and knows it is easy to communicate within a village community. This ease in communication within such a community makes money making or spinning out of that village`s money market an easy task. For this reason I considered the ability to easily communicate within the global village community as a big advantage. This makes it possible to spin money out of the global money market. The global money market is bigger than any money market we can think of. With the world now a global village community, why not make use of it and make or spin out cool, easy, real and almost free money for almost no work done. Yes, this is possible within a global village community made up of over 7 billion individual residents as at the time I last checked. With a host of languages, traditions, customs and any other thing you can think of, which makes specialization possible. What an exciting time to be living. Living within the global village era. It is really wonderful.
Today, the term "Global Village" is mostly used as a metaphor to describe the internet and world wide web. In any case, on the Internet, physical distance is even less of a hindrance to the real-time communicative activities of people, and therefore social spheres are greatly expanded by the openness of the web and the ease at which people can search for online communities and interact with others that share the same interests and concerns. This global village notion fosters the idea of a conglomerate yet unified global community. Due to the enhanced speed of communication within the global village community and the ability of people to read about, spread, and react to global news very rapidly, this surely forces us to become more involved with one another from countries around the world and be more aware of our global responsibilities. We are all of the same village, the world is our village.
Conclusively, the world is now looked upon as a village because of the ease with which we can communicate with each other within the global village community. This makes available opportunities which were not available to let us say a New Jersey residents of the early 1900. Then calling the world a village there in New Jersey, would certainly have qualified you for the class of those called fools then. Nobody could easily see the world as his village then. Hence, thinking of spinning or making cool, real, easy and almost free money for almost no work from the global money market was an impossibility to them. Yes, it was so for they could not communicate with other global village residents as we can today or gain access to the global money market. This opportunity of being able to relate with the world as though it were a village, is filled up with plenty of advantages for us of the global village era. Why not make use of it and smile with plenty of useful, real, easy and almost free money in your account, and it got into that account of yours for close to no work. I said close to, not no work.
